It was a pleasure to perform in Fenella Kennedy’s original work, Blue No w Here, in Columbus’s 10 Tiny Dances on March 17 and 18. Through a process inspired by dancers’ improv and generation, Blue No w here became a communal work about the communal impacts of technology. I felt that rather than dancing to communicate a message to an audience, I was communicating with those closest to me. The scores we practiced in rehearsals, such as gift solos and creating theoretical pieces for a loved one who we only communicate with over the internet, reminded me of the importances of art on a personal level. I had a blast getting to know my other peers and the larger Columbus dance community in a more intimate way, while exploring the fascinating art studios of 400 West Rich St. It was a blast!
